Africa rising, we chorused, just as things fell apart
He quotes Paul Kagame (Rwanda’s president) as the position of the new Afro-optimist:
“Europe went through centuries of war and suffering, Africa too will take the same route. Things will get much worse, before they get better.”
This is why we must prepare leaders of character ready to face today’s challenges. Things won’t get better without Africans ready to handle both the getting worse and the getting better.
